  • my snow blower use to throw snow but today i start the engine the auger move but doesnt throw snow what could be the issue?

  • @strickmans The impeller (or fan) behind the augers is frozen. You must free up before squeezing the auger engage lever or you will surely smoke the belt - once the belt smokes it will need to be replaced. Thanks for your question.

  • I have a Craftsman 24" snowblower and I'm asking if you have any videos regarding replacing the pull cord. I attempted to start my snow blower via pull cord and the cord came off.

  • @gpd1312 The next time I have a pull cord repair I'll try to get one made. Thanks

  • Would you happen to know why a snow blower would climb up on the snow instead of scraping from the bottom. I have a two stage 5HP ariens walk behind blower.

    the scrapers are new.

this happen when i have about 10 inches of snow.

  • @MrGuyana25

Sounds like your trying to move more snow than the snow blower can handle.

Try traveling at a slower speed ...if it still rides up then try cutting a 1/2 to 3/4 chute capacity path. You cant acheive this on the first pass but it's possible on every pass from then on.

  • ive got an Tecumseh 4 hp snowblower and the auger belt broke due over use ever year every small engine place i went to does not know what type if belt to put on it would you know ?

  • Excellent vid. Looks like MTD made this blower for Sears I have one branded MTD and it's almost identical. Too bad they now seem to be using more and more of the chinese built motors like Powermore & LCT these aren't proven yet and parts are more expensive. Good 'ol American made machinery is becoming increasingly rare in favor of cost-cutting measures.

  • I was always told to run SAE 30 in my MTD 5HP. Why 5w30? I know they make SAE 30 small engine oil that is sold in the snow blower section of sears etc. That's what I used when I changed my oil for this upcoming year....should I not have done this?

  • Great video, although one point.....you said 5-30 (about 10 ounces)0 is the recommended oil, but in the video, you were pouring oil from a 10-30 bottle and it seemed like a lot more than 10 ounces.

  • Hi there. I have an Ariens snowblower with a Tecumseh engine (similar to this one but a little different.) It runs fine for a little while, then will stall without me doing anything at all. I can restart it usually after a few pulls, and it's fine for a few more minutes. One of the hoses seems loose on its connector, and when i push the primer bulb, it sounds more like air gurgling than anything. No leaks from it or anything. Hose replacement and carb cleanout?

  • @Racecar097 Your right! he says use5w30 oil then he puts crappy Autozone 10w30 oil in the machine using a dirty funnel. I did mine , I used Ariens 5w30 "snowblower oil" with a clean funnel. This guy is sloppy.

  • You recommend 5w30 on a Snow Blower yet you put in 10w30. Which is it?
