"HIGHBALL!" BNSF 5392 gets the Green light to crossover from the south track to the north track at Maine, AZ. It runs around the 5487 which is on the south track ahead at Bellemont.
Yeah, this hogger has the Hamburger Helper glove on. I got a laugh when he passed by and then missed out on his waving. But I know I'll get a nice shot of him soon. Hope to meet the man. He seems cool. I've met a few guys who work the Seligman Sub. They are good men.

Just like color signals, if the ball was in the lowest position, that was the equivalent of the "stop" signal. The middle position was "slow", and the high postion meant "proceed". Hence the term "highball'. It's an old term but it's when you the green signal. You take it right then.
