  • After practicing this stroke I realize, as youi say at the end of the demostration one must both move to the left then right while bouncing the hand to vary the thickness of the stroke. So I guess I just need the name of the calligraphy style please. Thank you so much. I will keep practicing.

  • This book I was copying is Yan style.

  • I got a great book to improve my uneducated, novice calligraphy and it explained the first and last step. I was a little confused about it until I saw this very helpful video. It is great to see the movements in action. Thank you very much!

  • you make it look so easy...

  • wow you are a great calligrapher with much experience if you sold your own art work Id buy your wonderful calligraphy. Your also a great help indeed on how to do certain brush strokes simply amazing.

  • Thank you so much.

  • Is this clerical type kai shu style, or another style? It seems as though you have demonstrated two different styles of calligraphy in this stroke. One reverses direction first and writes while the other touches up and down before the full pressure of the stroke. Can you please tell me the name of these styles? Which one will we be learning for the rest of the basic strokes? Thank you for your love.
