A dignified send-off for a loved one erupts into uproarious chaos when romance, jealousy, in-laws, hallucinogens, dark secrets, life-long yearnings and a spot of bold blackmail all collide grave-side in the irreverent British comedy DEATH AT A FUNERAL. Directed by Frank Oz ("Bowfinger," "In & Out") and featuring a cast made up of the cream of Britain's crop, the film mischievously explores what happens on the day when a typically divided family is finally forced to come to terms with each other's -- bad behavior, outrageous faults, skeletons in the closet and all.

American "humor" usually either appeals to the masses or insults our intelligence. I'm from the US and I would much rather watch something from Britain any day.

Some people like Chris Rock's version, some like the original.

I really don't know why they had to remake the film. British and american humor aside. I mean all the funny parts seem to be in both films. Only the american version now has some jokes on the race part, like "There's jackie chan in the coffin" or "our dad was gay and the only concern you have is his lover being white". Haha... now "that" made it funnier ;-/ ....

British humor is way better than most American humor. P.S. I'm American.

I think that whatever our nationality is, we can all agree the British version was better.

I consider "Castle" to have better humor than Napolean Dynamite. Or even Alan Tudyk's role in Firefly. Hell, let's take the two versions of The Office. I've seen a few episodes of the original UK version, more of the US version and consider the US version funnier in my eyes. Not because I'm American, but because I personally find it funnier. Culture impacts it to a degree, primarily in getting the "in jokes" and relating to the characters, but I still think Ricky Gervais is hilarious.
