Were these interviews required by the Pentagon or something? They're overly antiseptic and prim and the wonderful subjects in these interviews seem like they've been dragged before a tribunal.

There's a riotous hilarious clip on YT of his appearance as a mystery guest on What's My Line? (where he was a semi-regular panelist) where he and Buddy Hackett get into a mock verbal fight. Always so erudite and funny. Thanks for all the great entertainment, Mr. Randall.
