A selection of East Midlands Trains Meridian units and a Cross Country HST pass whilst waiting for the main event.
GWR Castle class 4-6-0 No. 5043 "Earl of Mount Edgcumbe" is then caught on camera hauling "The Scarborough Flyer" excursion on 4 June 2011.

It is seen on the Midland main line near Breadsall, gaining speed shortly after leaving Derby on the northbound leg.

The location was one I had not visited before and was rather more overgrown than I had hoped it would be. The footbridge over the line replaced a foot crossing several years ago. The path involved leads nowhere in particular, and is probably used by no more that a handful of people daily, yet the bridge had heavy gauge steel mesh forming a cage encasing the side and top of the bridge; an almost perfect camera proof barrier!
