This is a simple tutorial that shows you: How to change your PS3 back to Component when all you see is a black screen. This often occurs after you put your PS3 settings to be compatible with HDMI and your Television is not. So either enjoy the video or follow these instructions
- Turn on your PS3
- Wait approx. 10 seconds
- (If you have to choose a user) press X
- Press Left 4 Times
- Press Down 10 Times
- Press X
- Press X
- Press Down (estimated twice)
- Press X
..After this point if you continuously press X you should be able to see something, or at least enough to let you change the rest of your settings. I hope this tutorial helped you, or even worked for that matter, and I hope to bring you many more in the future.
PLEASE NOTE: Braveworld also mentioned that if you hold the PS button for approx. 10 - 15 seconds, all the settings will return to Default! So if none of this works, try that.
There is a much easier way... Thumb it up!
When turning the PS3 on from standby mode just hold the power button until the second beep and then release the power button rite away. This will force the PS3 into a auto-detect mode that will select the correct settings automatically. Works every time with out fail as long as the power button is released at the moment the second beep happens.

I'll tell you guys a quicker way and forget this method ... My method takes 30 secs
1) make sure ps3 is off at the switch ( at the rear of the ps3 which you can flick on/off)
2) now keep your finger on the power button (the pretty button that lights up)
3) now flick on the power SWITCH, and KEEP your finger on the power BUTTON
4) you should hear a a double or triple beep
5) now your ps3 is at AV component ( default settings)
Thank you
