Natasha Pikoul plays the first movement of Beethoven's op.31 sonata in D minor, famously nicknamed 'The Tempest' because of its stormy first movement - Largo -Allegro.
Natasha Pikoul and her sister Marina are also composers - you can find out more about them and hear some of their compositions here :

  • MakeViolntRevolution said... yes those triplets are indeed tricky, they dont call it the Tempest for nothing I'm glad that you slowed down for them because it is vital that you always control the tempo and not the other way around It should be driving but not pushing so I think that is the right way to go until you have it up to tempo I also think it lets you add more expression which is good However, you must have consitancy with the tempo which ever way you go Well done

It is the freshness by the perfect interpretation which deviated from the common sense and the rule.

It got bored with many petty Beethoven's performance.

However, I think that her performance is so wonderful.
