3D Laser Scanning is state of the art measurement technology used to create accurate, 3D as builts of existing buildings, plants and other improvements. The scanner passes a continuous laser beam over the objects being measured, creating a dimensionally accurate, digital copy of the object. The scanner is capable of measuring more than 1,000,000 3D points or locations per second.

Laser scanning data has become extremely easy to use. All of the measurements or 3D points collected by the scanner are combined into a single "point cloud". Many CAD packages can now access these point clouds directly. If needed, we can also utilize specialized software to extract 2D or 3D CAD objects from the point cloud that are compatible with any CAD package. Scan data can be used to create traditional 2D plans, 3D models, renderings, animations and many other types of deliverables.

With the increased complexity of projects today, especially in remodeling or creating additions to existing facilities, accurate knowledge of existing conditions is crucial. 3D Laser Scanning fills this need, quickly and inexpensively.
