Take This Hammer appears on John's 2002 Leadbelly tribute album Remembering Leadbelly, which was his last album.

Right to Sing the Blues is the title track to the 1996 album Right to Sing the Blues.

@shippy275 I saw him in Germany, late 2003. Couldn't believe my luck. We sat at a table right against the stage, in a cosy bar The guy was using walking sticks by then, but the voice and stage presence awesome, as always. I had the pleasure of being able to chat with him after the set. We reminisced about the "Detroit Soup Kitchen" gig, where I had seen him many years before. What a delightful character a and lovely person. RIP Long John . . . . Chris.

Agree with you totally, I did manage to speak to the man himself when he played at the Baeufort Theatre,nr Ebbw Vale, just him on 12 string,and Matt Taylor on electric guitar plus a great harmonica player..superb! never see the likes again
