The Tamiya Championship Series is now in its 16th year and going strong. One of the attractions of the series is the possibility to attend the annual North American Finals at the Tamiya Test Track in Alisio Viejo, California and possibly go on to win a chance to represent the USA at the World Championships in Japan. We attended the event this year and captured all the exciting A-Main action as it happened.
In this video we get to see the first A-Main of the GT3 Class. The rules of the class state that racers must use a tub chassis car, handout battery pack and a handout motor. Joe Glover from Canada captured the pole in qualifying. Watch to see if he can hold on to win the first A-Main.

i have never seen a race like this, just fly planes, this may be a dumb question but what is the cycling sound in the background sounds like someone building a house with a nail gun???

@owennem There's a small transmitter in each car called a Transponder. This is what counts the laps when someone crosses the start/finish line. That sound is the computer acknowledging that it counted the lap as the car went over the line. This way the driver and race director know that things are working as they should be.

The announcer guy acts like a jerk, "you gotta wait for the mistake not cause it" "Christian in the box!" "watch it #2" It was obvious he didn't want #2 to win. how are you supposed to not tap anyone when your faster and they block you the entire race?
alfwok 1 year ago
@alfwok It had everything to do with the fact that Christian had made multiple rough driving moves previous to that. Yes, he was frustrated after the crash in the first turn on the start but it is still the overtaking driver's responsibility to ensure a clean pass. All drivers were warned about rough driving & the possibility of penalties in the driver's meeting & before the main. If you're faster then find a clean way around. When you see A2 & 3 he does get around cleanly.
