Connie Chiu was born in Hong Kong to a Chinese family. Like many people with albinism, she has to protect her photosensitive eyes and skin from the sunlight. As a result, her family moved to Sweden when she was seven.

Albinism looks strangely beautiful on Asians as many tend to have doll-like features. Black albinos look beautiful too but we must know that skin/hair/eye colour can vary greatly no matter what race someone is. I'm Asian and when I was 3 I had white hair but now it's honey blonde and I have mixed hazel/brown eyes. I also have a black neice who has icy blue eyes, straight golden hair and white skin and she looks like an albino because her face is very simian. Her mother is white.

also i'm really glad (and surprised) to see no negative comments about her. Im glad not every one is an asshole nowadays. it's actually really sad how often people get teased for something different about them that isnt portrayed as sexy by the media. everyone is brainwashed in the most negative way. im glad so many people arent.

my best friend is albino and Connie Chiu has gotten her through so much abuse and discrimination it's unbelievable...we both like in the UK and she had to leave mainstream education because of the way people teased her because her eyes looked red in bright light, and telling her that she was a freak, a vampire, a ghost, a zombie. Telling her that she wasn't natural, that she shouldn't exist. But she's through it all thanks to people like this woman and Stephen Thompson.

@darkjapanesegirl18 When my aunt was born (she's albino) the village accused my grandmother of having an affair. You see, we're Chinese and she suffered so much discrimination, I feel so sorry for her. It's so sad and no one wanted to talk to her because they thought she was weird.

I have oculocutaneous albinism ( which is type 1 albinism, a mild form of it) and Connie is a HUGE inspiration of albinos everywhere. I used to get teased alot when I was young, kids saying like" Look a ghost a ghost!" I have pale skin, eyes, and hair (though not white hair, more like a lightish blonde) But Connie gave me confidence.
