Lets get it straight here, free blacks post civil war wasn't the intention of the civil war it was just a consequence of it. If it was intended (and it wasn't) do you know how many white men fought to continue slavery? There were clearly two sides there. Plus I don't think school teachers are sending white men on a guilt trip. They tell them what happened in America's past, which isn't even the full story, and the white males may find themselves feeling guilty. Its not intentional. Don't assume.
