I'll admit I'm still kind of disappointed that Del Toro backed out of directing "The Hobbit." I was really curious to see what he would do with the film(s) since he's already made so many terrific and imaginative fantasy films.
But whenever I feel disappointed about it, I remind myself that PETER JACKSON took over for him. That's the best possible scenario for "The Hobbit"!
Still, Del Toro's probably the only other director I'd trust with material as beloved as Tolkien's.
