Fasciculations-Six minutes of my day.

Much different than a regular muscle spasm, fasciculations can be a sign of a major neurological disease such as ALS, otherwise known as Lou Gehrig's disease, or they can also result from other nerve disorders, or spinal damage, Lyme disease, and many other causes...Also they can be benign...If you have twitching like this accompanied by a feeling of weakness or fatigue, make sure to visit the doctor for further testing and request an EMG.. Don't wait for atrophy to set in before being tested. I had denervation in both legs, one arm and both lumbar paraspinals, and my left thoracic paraspinal...This pointed to a strong possibility of ALS, yet my weakness ceased in its progression. Although I still have lot's of weakness, my muscles have not wasted away...The theory is that I had a virus which mimicked the start of limb onset ALS, and it was finally the lack of progression that ultimately determined my diagnosis.

@NaturReise Yours were BFS....That doesn't mean that everyones are....In a disease such as ALS your muscles are dieing and the fasics are a sign of it....I would agree with a couple comments...Most twitches are of a benign nature...BUT NOT ALL....If the twitching is accompanied by weakness, fatigue or atrophy it COULD be a sign of a more major condition that a EMG, and a neuro workup should be able to figure out..

@Lene1973a Don't be an idiot...I mentioned in my discription that it COULD be ALS, BUTTTT that it also could be BFS...I told people that IF they had weakness along with it get tested...Don't be a dope.

Also I had denervation all over my bod consistant with ALS, so either read the discription and comments, or shut your piehole.

I've had fasiculations for a few years, I'm not sure exactly why, but I'm guessing its because of doing Ecstasy a lot in 2006/2009, or from my spine. It's messed up a lot.
