Hutongs are the old neighborhoods of Beijing. They are the vivid remains of chinese community culture. This is a videoclip done during a bike ride in some Beijing hutongs and around (2007, China)

    A good job! Wonder what's that statue about. It looks weird.

  • Thank you, zhang! That statue is at the Dashanzi Art District, in Beijing. I guess it simbolize the repression against sexual workers in China (you realize that being closer, i think). Unluckly i don't have the name of the author. Best.

  • so sad that this part of the culture are dying away T_T most of the hutong around my grandmother's place have already been removed and rebuild with apartment...

    well perhaps too much population is really a big problem, perhaps one day when we have less population we might be able to restore these memory... =)
