Paul didn't think too highly of Rick's drumming in the realm of Soul/Funk. I suppose Paul needed to branch out. Still, I think his best stuff was with the Jam. I say that not just because I am essentially a rock fan but rather because the songs were just more full of life. Also, Weller ain't no modfather. To me, it is Steve Marriot and Townshend.
