when i burned the bottom cotton only 80% burned off id say the rest is asbestos

laboratory results using polarized light microscopy and scanning electron microscopy including energy dispersive x-ray analysis on a similar mask and cartridge confirms the presence of chrysotile asbestos in the white fabric portion of the filter system. please be careful and aware that your cartridge has a high probability of asbestos content.

Were you able to remove the top off without destroying the canister? I'd like to take the contents out (just in case) so I can use it with the gas mask with my costume
