This is a quick video of EMC2 retrofitted to a 1985 Leadwell VMC (vertical milling machine). old Control was a mitsubishi M0, all servo drives & motors are original mitsubishi hardware. machine can do 10M/Min in feed and rapid in X Y Z with a max spindle speed of 6000RPM. this was a quick video to show machine in action witha 4th axis fitted.

  • Beautiful.... I am seriuosly looking for a machine like this to retrofit. How do you find the iron on that leadwell. It obviously looks like it works great, did you have to do a lot of repairs to it? Again VERY nice looking and running machine... peace

    this is a machine we already had that needed updating.

    repares was just general overall maintenance realy.

  • @PetefromTn I got a 1986 with red cap fanuc motors. That needs retrofit. Its in good shape, new ball shaft bearings, tool changer repaired (the plasic caps) . let me know if you want it 6k
