The fellow that buried the car is in his rights to pursue the justice he dolled out (any officer will agree with him), it was fair and correct without any harm to the person's involved.

The problem with vigilantism is when bodily harm or confrontation comes to be a factor, that's automatically harrassment, if not worse (in USA and Canada).

So take this guy as an example of fair justice (vigilantism), keep a cool head and if it just out of hand just call the authorities.

I think what he did made a point, without getting the cops involved so she would get arrested. What she did was wrong, and what he did was funny. It made the point quite clear. He could have called the cops and justifiably had her arrested for theft. She did steal. I'm sure she's thinking about that right now, and I'm certain she would rather shovel her car out of the snow, than have a criminal record.
