How did you managed the rotation problem? with the original gear transmission, when the motor spins counter-clock, you get a clock movement in the wheel. With the belt transmission, both spins clock movement. All you did was change the wires? How does it brakes? Thanks!

Wouldn't a belt system cause more friction making it go slower?

@andersonquinn23 It all depends on the bearing friction, transmission ratio, belt tension and belt type (V-belt or flat). Of course, if you take a closer look at the motor bearing, you might have noticed that I also replaced the sleeve bearings by a set of ball bearing on both ends to greatly reduce friction - with success.
