I wish I'd been there to support them - I completely believe (as a rape victim myself - and no, I was five, I wasn't wearing revealing clothes) in what they're promoting. I only hope that something comes from it!

This just makes me hate women...

@lilvixenchica Actually this is your analogy explained:
bob: "What do mean it's a good idea to have a burgular alarm? Don't blame me! I didn't ask for it!"
jim: "But I didn't blame anyone, I was just saying it's actually safer to have a burgular alarm than not."
bob: "What!? How dare you! I'm going to march in the streets and encourage the neighbors not to own burgular alarms.
jim: *sigh*

Imagine if an officer told cyclists not to wear black at night. Then the cyclists got upset and protested, "don't blame cyclists for wearing black at night if they get hit by a car!! It's never OK to blame the victim!" So the cyclists start marching in the streets wearing all black and encourage each other to do so. The Slut Walk achieves two things: 1) puts more women in harm's way 2) demeans women by making them look foolish

What a bunch of retards

makes me sad this Western world (specifically the rich and developed north) where women are still clamoring for their rights, not to be harassed, for not being battered, to they do not treat them as objects of consumption of a society still sexist...I hope someday to see that change

This isn't about dressing like a slut... This is about not being attacked no matter what you are wearing. They called it a slut walk because it get media attention. It's about not telling a rape victim you were asking for it, the lack of punishment for crimes and to help create a world where women/men REPORT THEIR RAPE. You don't tell your neighbor dude you didn't have an alarm on your house, you were totally asking for it, nor do you say they car owner deserved to get his car stolen.

@midnull But they will not be respectable when they show their underwear or P****.
-
they don´t look much like sluts, rather than a couple a ugly, shitty leftovers with a need to get laid
What if I think that women shouldn't dress like sluts period? How about some modesty? Not burqa modesty, just the good old don't-show-your-underwear-to-everyone kind of modesty.

@Purrrplexity Wow! Way to go on spreading a message of peace and nonviolence! I'm not a religious nut; and I never insinuated that anyone should be hurt or killed. I just prefer my daughter to go on a "Candlelight Walk" against rape, rather than a "Slut Walk".
