How to remove a 2003-2007 6.0 Powerstroke egr valve. The egr valve will sometimes cause surging or missing. It is very easy to pull the valve and check it for being coked up. Cleaning it is usually all that it takes to clear up the problem.

  • I'm a ford diesel tech for 6 years, that was close but not quit the easiest way to remove the valve, and P.S. that tool he's using is called a heal bar, anyways just to the right of where he was doing it, by the alt, is a line on the intake manifold that you use to pry it up, and we always push the other side of the valve with your hand to keep it straight so you don't break it removing it. After cleaning it, to reinstall it, put a light amout of tranny lub or some sort of lub on the to O-rings

  • Can not be leave, I need a new EGR valve for a ford 370 in a F5000 truck, called the dealer, told me they do not have them any more, called Napa and they have no listing, asked me for a number of it, but so rusted there is nothing on it, also need a vacum advance for distributer, again same problem, any help would love it, TKS

  • hanks for the vid

  • @jorjohns2012 its either a cracked EGR cooler or a blown head-gasket, but i would bet on a bad EGR cooler being the problem

  • Truck doesnt miss at all, but once it gets warmed up, it will start smoking a white/blue smoke. could it be Egr valve?
