Well, you need electric to make the H2, and it has to be technical grade, $17/kg. And the fuel cell stack degrades because you're not carrying tanks of tech grade O2, and the Carbon degrades the stack. Any hint about where you might find C in the air of a FWY? LOLOL
and if petrol is left in a tank it doesn't turn to water. and the latest lithium pack if left for 10 years will still be 99.2% charged due to low internal resistance.
the latest lithium pack can be charged in 3-6 hours and have a range of 300miles! what is this not good enough technology? you cant fast charge a battery and i think this is awesome! and if you could buy a 50kw hydrogen car for what you claim.....60 dollar per kw then it would cost $5000 for the cell which is BS. you cant change the materials in a fuel cell...it wont work. thats just car company speak. they want people to buy that crap but scientifically it cant work!
hey doug. there is a guy on here claiming that honda have a fuel cell car that costs $60 per kw of energy! 60 kw's for $6000. do you want to set him straight or should i? =]
Well, first of all, kW is a measure of power, not energy...and the fuel cell stack itself costs about $3000/kW (the goal is $500/kW). So a 50 kW fuel cell stack, equivalent to the battery in RAV4-EV, would now cost $150,000.
