@CannibalTr0ll "It takes more land to raise vegetables and grains than it does to raise animals." The problem is that in order to raise animals, you have to raise vegetables and grains to feed them.
@CannibalTr0ll Learn to eat fermented foods newb and compost to renew nitrogen/carbon in soil. Nitrogen is found in green plants, scraps of fruits and vegetables; carbon, thin cardboard, paper, newspaper, napkins, brown plants, wood, prunings and more.
@SuperAnimalDrummer "Using land for food animals is a highly inefficient use of that land,"
Depends on the land. Sometimes you do more ecological damage to the land farming it as apposed to ranching it.
"That is not arguable."
That is arguable, because the problem is distribution and economics, not supply.
In actuality converting all food production to only Vegan doctrine worldwide would actually cause epic hunger and mass starvation worldwide. Not all countries have even the option.
@SuperAnimalDrummer "Heart disease is epidemic and caused by America's overconsumption of meat. "
Not just America, but I do agree. Over consumption of meat is bad. Vegan takes one extreme to the other. The real healthiest is a balanced diet, not extremes.
"the reality of factory farming"
Agreed again. Factory farming is bad for health, bad for the environment and also cruel for the animals. That doesn't mean Vegan is the only solution though.
@rosepetal108 Propoganda? For who? Where are you getting your information? Do you have any links? I a m interestd. No, I don't think a boy would like a small piece of meat, necessarily.. What he needs are vegetables, fruit, grains. There are other ways to get protein and essential amino acids. meat is expensive and un necessary. Using land for food animals is a highly inefficient use of that land, and could feed more people if converted to grain. That is not arguable. (post 1 of 3)
@rosepetal108 the reality of factory farming, and the conditions that animals endure in order to bring fat americans their food. It is a holocaust, no less. If you can't watch it, then don't argue for the increase of meat production. We already ahve FAR too much meat in this world, and that land would be better used for harvesting grain, fruits, or vegetables, and more efficient. Have you watched videos on youtube, such as "Farm to Fridge," or "Earthlings?" Watch those, or don't argue.
@rosepetal108 Not to mention how unhealthy meat is. All cholesterol is derived from animal products. Heart disease is epidemic and caused by America's overconsumption of meat. Obesity is a huge problem because of the saturated fat in meat and over-proliferation of fast food chains in poorer sections of our nation. We eat far too much eat as a nation, because companies make profit, and cause animal suffering beyond your imagination. All of these statistics and figure pail when put in light of....
That's the propaganda. Unfortunately it isn't true.
Exactly what happened in the 1930's was converting prairie lands suitable for grazing into wheat (and other grains) production. This caused the single worst ecological disaster in USA history. It was called the dust bowl.
@SuperAnimalDrummer ==>"We could feed all of the hungry people on earth if we cancelled all factory farms in America"
Total BS propaganda. We already produce more than enough food to feed everyone on the planet. World Hunger is a socio economic political problem, NOT a problem of supply.
Don't you think that starving boy with a bowl of rice would love to have just a small piece of meat milk or eggs to mix with it? He simply can't afford it. He is on a forced Vegan diet and it is killing him.
