My Tonsillectomy Before and After OUCH

On December 22nd I had my tonsils out. This is a video documentary of the before (Post Op) and right after the surgery. My mother and my niece were there to help support me through this very painful process! Thanks to my mom, niece, and boyfriend for helping and supporting me out during this entire experience!! :)

@stevenbreig69 It does hurt, but just stick with it. Over time you will be feeling just fine and in the long run be happy that you had them taken out. Most likely if your doctor is telling you that you need them out then they are doing you more harm then good. So just remind yourself after every day that you are one more day closer to being normal again.

This video really helped me a lot because right now I'm facing a tonsillectomy because my tonsils have been swollen for a matter of days this was an uplifting in my burden thank you!

@suppzypaul Good luck! I can tell you that it will hurt more than anything you've ever had done..and it will most likely hurt for weeks pretty badly!! But the overall outcome will be worth it! I used to always have swollen tonsils and would always randomly wake up with sore throats. It has been a million times better since they are gone!! Just ask for the pill version of the pain meds! I got sick of the taste of that stuff and couldn't handle it!!

do u mind if i ask how old u were? im 23 and ive heard the pain is much worse in adults...mine are coming out april 2nd, ive had surgery before but it was when i was about 5 i had pharyngeal flap surgery in my throat but it was so long ago i dont remember it.and did u heal in about a week or was it closer to two? i just want to know to let my work give me the time off i need

Aaawwww, you're so funny! I had mine out on Monday and it SUCKS to be me right now. SO much pain. I'm 40 but I feel like a little kid again. YUK. :o(

Im getting mine out next friday... But im scared of the narcosis part.. :( How does it feel? And when you are waking up and such? Does it take you long to wake up cuz i wanna be awake asap.:( Im so scared i can cry haha... please answer.:(

@kaylarosin Im 14 and getting my tonsils out in a few hours. I will tell you if it hurts a lot with big tonsils because mine are huge aswell lol. If you still need an answer
