there are alot of bands as good as the beatles in the 60s in britain. the beatles (and rollingstones, etc) r just lucky. im not a hater, i love the beatles but i think its true

@PrimalStones If I may...yes, we could speculate and as well about all who are a part of the invasion such as The Who and the Animals, The Kinks, Jerry and The Pacemakers, Chad and Jeremy, Joe Cocker and so many that I could type for hours if I wanted to...Also the New Wave with Elvis Costello and the other new generation of Brits...

@Headstrong87 I'd say Buddy Holly and Eddie Cochran were more influencial than anyone

@Headstrong87 I agree but actually, Elvis, Buddy Holly, Del Shannon and others were far more important ("one of the") influences to the Beatles but the actual invasion was the Beatles themselves and to the Brits we owe the Rolling Stones, The Yard birds from whom came many (Led Zepplin), The small faces again, many (Rod Stewart), Herman's Hermits, Zombies, Cream...(many including Clapton)...Traffic and on and on and on....

@KDMensch Everly Brothers actually "started" it, seeing as how one of the main influences the Beatles had were the Everly Brothers.
