You used the ecm8000 for recording the guitar or only for the ARC measurement? 'cause it sounds very clear!!

Hey! Is there a way to get this recording!? It's awesome!

Hi! what's better for recording: maudio fast track pro or presonus audiobox ?

Beautiful... :C

@danakerman Agree, the vocal doesn't sitwell in the mix, need some more tweaking.

I think a lot of issues I have with the vocal sound could be solved by the use of a different mic. When you get some cash, pick up a nice large-diaphragm condenser for vocals. Rode makes great ones that don't break the bank.
And you don't need auto-tune!!!!! I'm sure your voice is strong enough to get by without it. I can hear it clicking in on the vocal track and it detracts from the purity of your vocal sound. Trust your ability. If you screw up, you can always do another take.

The guitar sounds phenomenal. You recorded it very well. You're a good singer (I'm a classically trained, professional singer, so I know a little bit about singing). My only criticism is that the vocal doesn't sit in the mix well, but that's a mixing thing that will improve with practice. I probably would have dialed a little bass out of your vocal sound and lowered the levels a bit, but I don't much about that stuff either.
Sorry to ask this, but that video recording was not live ! right ?

@lotemno
No, the This Years Love video is the only "live" clip so far,on all the others, including this one, I recorded the audio first, mixed it, and then did the video.

hey bro im about to buy an interface and im looking at buying the SAFFIRE PRO 24 DSP which i think u posted you used in this vid...so i wanna know what you think of it and what daw are your using......thx

I use the Saffire Pro 24 (no DSP at the end), the difference between them being that the DSP has some onboard signal out processing tech called VRM, which is supposed to make your headphones sound like HQ studio monitors. Its also about 100$ more. Its nice, I guess if you dont have decent monitors or a acousticly treated control/mixing room. I prefer to use my monitors and I use IK Multimedia`s ARC (w/ ECM 8000) as room EQ.

I am very satisfied with the 24 pro, its nice looking, sturdy and unproblematic with decent drivers and good sound quality.
I woudl recommend it!
