Nick and Selena were walking barefoot on the shore of the beautiful city of Merritt Island, Florida, a small city located on the east coast of the state on the enormous Atlantic Ocean. It was nine o'clock and it was a cold humid night, but they both didn't care, it was still one of the most beautiful nights they have ever seen. The dark sky was covered with small, luminous stars that spread in random patterns across it, complementing the round full moon that stood above the tranquil ocean that gave the water a silver color.
Nick and Selena walked side by side holding hands as they both listened the smooth crashing sound the waves made when they hit the shore. Nick couldn't stop looking at Selena from the corner of his eye, she was just too beautiful to ignore. She was the most beautiful woman in his eyes. He loved the was her dark brown hair cascaded down her shoulders; he loved her soft pink lips, he could just kiss them all day and never get tired of their strawberry taste; he loved her white breathtaking smile, every time she smile it was like having his private ray of sunshine to bright up his gloomy days, but what he loved the most about Selena was her eyes. She had dark brown eyes, so dark they almost seemed black, Nick loved those eyes because on bright days they changed into a delightful caramel color and he knew those eyes so well, he knew exactly how she felt, and that he loved.
Tonight was the night he was going to propose to Selena and he could feel his heart throbbing nervously inside his chest. They had been dating for almost two years and Nick was ready to settle down and have a family with the girl of his dreams, she was everything to him and he knew this would be the best decision of his life. "Selena" Nick whispered breaking the peaceful silence between them two. He stopped and turned his body to face Selena, he felt his hands begin to sweat, but that didn't stop him from taking her other hand "I have to ask you something"
Feeling confused Selena looking into Nick's chocolate colored eyes, searching in them for any clues on what he was going to ask, but she couldn't find anything, only anxiety. "What is it, Nick?" She asked with concern filled eyes
Nick locked eyes with Selena, they looked exceptionally beautiful tonight, maybe it was the silver moonlight that made them shine so bright, or maybe it was always like this and his nerves made him think differently. Nervously, Nick shook his thoughts away and focused on Selena again "Selena, I love you" he said with a nervous smile on his face "And I want to make you a promise"
Selena narrowed her eyes at Nick feeling confused, he was never this nervous around her. Honestly she had no idea what Nick was doing, but she was about to find out.
Nick took a deep breath to calm his nerves before continuing "I promise you that I will love you with everything in me for the rest of my life; I promise you that I would be there every time you need me; I promise that I would hold you in my arms whenever you cry; I promise I would always tell you how beautiful you are; I promise you I will never hurt you" Nick noticed as he slowly kneeled down that Selena's eyes were beginning to cover themselves into tears, the kind of tears he didn't mind seeing, happy tears. "I will keep each and every single one of those promises if you answer one question for me"
As Nick digged his hand inside his front pocket Selena couldn't help but let the joyful tears roll down her soft cheeks. She couldn't believe Nick was finally proposing to her, she had been waiting for months for him to get the guts to do it and finally tonight was the night. Her heart was beating excitedly inside her chest and she couldn't help but smile as Nick got the velvet little box out of his pocket.
With a smile on his face, Nick looked back at Selena. He took another deep breath and as he exhaled he eagerly opened the box to reveal a luxurious ring. It was white world with three luminous diamonds in the middle "Selena Marie Gomez, would you marry me?"
With tears rolling down her cheeks Selena nodded her head looking at the beautiful ring Nick had brought for her "Yes!" she exclaimed with a shaky voice "Yes I will marry you Nick"
Raising to his feet once again, Nick slowly slid the ring on Selena's left finger. He couldn't hide his excitement, it showed in his brown eyes and in his crooked, bright smile. Without hesitation he slidd his powerful arms around her slim waist and picked her up with no problem "I love you" Nick whispered into her lips "I love you!" he repeated louder this time
A soft giggle escaped Selena's lips "I love you too, Nick" And without thinking it twice she kissed his lips passionately. This was the beginning of a great love story, Selena thought to herself, but was it really?
