  • Is this the same measurement for instant milk, or is that different.

    Thanks.

  • @meadowlassie you'll need to double the amount of powdered milk mentioned in the video if you're using instant (or just look at the directions for your specific instant powdered milk)

  • @everydayfoodstorage Thank you, so much. It's my first time making powdered milk. I would rather go with your measurements than whats on the box. Do I, or can I still ad a touch of sugar and vanilla to the instant?

  • @meadowlassie yes, you can

  • yes

  • 1971emily-I would love to see the source for this information. Thanks!

  • Don't use lukewarm/warm/hot water for cooking from your tap. If you are in an older home there is still a chance that there is lead solder on the pipes and hot water leaches that into the water you drink. Also, unless you are draining your hot water heater every week, there is sediment in it that can make you sick.

  • Don't drink water from a water heater,

  • my method of doing this goes as so i have those cheap walmart cup blender things (wich are about 16oz).. i fill a little less than half way with powder, i add maybe a tablespoon or two of sugar, 3 shakes of salt(from salt shaker) and the other half gets filled with choc milk, then i blend and drink it. the choc milk is abt 2 cups so im gettnig 16g protein from that and milk powder equivalant is 2 cups serving size so im geting 16g protein... a total of 32g of protein*same amount of muscle milk

  • im using instant nonfat powdered instant milk to add to regular milk with slight amounts of salts and sugars (electrolytes) to make a cheap bootleg protein shake... i mix it with store buaght choc milk... comes out creamy and delish im not a body builder so i dnt care about the casien vs whey arguments as long as im getting extra protein im glad. is this a good idea? Protein powder helps my hair... no lie so im doing it this way cuz its more natural and cheaper. trying to see if someone made vid

  • my aunt made me drink this crap as a kid. let me tell you, i hated summer vacations because of this. what i like to do is make rice or oat milk. its so much more palatable. you can make it regular(like for cereal) or sweet(to drink on its own). it tastes so much better than instant dairy milk.

  • Hey! I resemble that blonde remark.

  • After getting fully used to the non-instant flavor, I have come to the point where I can just fill my cerial bowl one-third full of the non-instant non-fat powder and then add my cerial and some sweetener, fruit, etc. ... I just use regular cold(ish) tap water and stir it up "well" ...

... Really not bad at all ... I do the same thing with quick-oats and boiling water. Like you said ... tastes different, at first .. Now? ... I prefer it to anything else, it's very handy and I never run out!

  • I switched over to non-instant powdered milk, a long time ago and, now I much prefer it to "fresh" milk. In fact, "regular" milk tastes really nasty and fatty to me, now and the non-fat powdered milk tastes sweet and "right" (to me). ... I like to shake it up vigorously, in a sealed container (half the total water) and let it sit in the fridge until the froth subsides ... I add more water, next time I am in the fridge, and then let it sit, over-night. ... Works great ...

  • @everydayfoodstorage I was a chemistry major and tutor in college we never used hot pipe water and always learned not to cook with it since the heat increases the solubility of anything in the water and it might get in your food. think about the amount of sugar you could dissolve in cold water and think about the amount of sugar you could dissolve in hot water and you can imagine the increase in solubility when you are using hot water.. We always use ice cold water.. and then bring it to heat..

  • I love powdered milk. and so does my family. My kids say it taste way better than regular milk. but I like mine thick. So I usually do 5 scoops to make a gallon.

  • SO POWDERED MILK WOULD NOT BE A GOOD THING FOR SURVIVIAL IF YOUR ELECTRIC WAS OFF, ,,,UNLESS IT WAS WINTER AND YOU COULD SET IT OUTSIDE? ...........I GUESS YOU COULD PUT IN POWDERED CREAM

  • Whats the nutritional value of this.
