  • @jaxpower1 yes, there is mercury in toothpaste. there's also deadly sodium fluoride which is the active ingredient in rat poison. but hey that's a 1 year old post... maybe you've awakened already ;) hope so.

  • beautiful human being, soooo right on people..

  • @jaxpower1 I don't know if there is mercury in toothpaste or not but you are delusional if you believe you our government gives a damn about anybody's health. Ha! What about the mercury in dental fillings? Those cause all kinds of health problems and the government doesn't have a problem with letting the dentist fill your mouth up with poisonous heavy metals.

  • God bless you baby. Keep spreading the truth.... I am sick of the mainstream lies.

  • lol there is no mercury in toothpaste, it's highly poisonous, no governing body would approve toothpaste containing mercury.

  • @commonagenet nothing. they didnt have stuff like chocolates and candy to rot their teeth

  • Fluoride is very bad. Now 1 in 3 children have permanent discoloration on their teeth because of fluoride. Dentists tell parents not to use tap water with baby formula now.

Lots of toothpastes from the health food store contain fluoride :( so you have to look close to find a good one.

  • i wonder what caveman used?

  • I haven't heard of any toothpastes containing mercury, however some heavy metal oxides may be added, along with some other junk, and definitely sodium fluoride, which is an industrial waste that has found its way into this consumer product. (Because they couldn't dump it in the environment, too toxic!!!)

  • I can't just go off one man's opinion, no matter how charismatic and white his teeth are.

  • which toothpastes have mercury??

  • I don't know about mercury, but ALL t.pastes contain GLYCERINE, a strong grease that closes your teeth enamel pores; that IS a problem. Toothpaste like all manufactured body care products just do harm.

Baking soda is said to be a virus killer, salt kills bacteria, use a mix, b.soda + sea salt, unrefined, without fluoride or iodine added. B. soda in smaller amounts, once a day, rub a small qty with your fingers on your teeth.

The other times JUST dental floss and toothbrush with water.

  • vinegar? That is an acid and will demineralize the teeth!

  • I am very well convinced that brushing with baking soda and gargling with peroxide is just as effective as anything Colgate or Listerine can come up with. It may not be as pleasant, but it's still effective. 'Sides, if you want the minty-minty comfort, chew mint or parsley leaves afterwards.

  • I don't know, but that is what my dentist said, especially if you have a weak enamel or sensitive teeth.

  • I have been brushing with baking soda for over 50 years also my family and no one in my family has coreded teeth brushing your gums is more important than brushing your teeth

  • you shouldn't brush with baking soda everyday- once a week is good, because the baking soda may corrode teeth with daily use. not all toothpaste has mercury

  • you live in saint louis? I'm thinking about going back but am worried that I won't be able to find organic (affordable) vegetables and health foods. I know there's the soulard farmer's market but that's pretty much it... I went back home to north county and there was nothing but convenience stores and liquor stores for a while before the nearest schnuck's!
