Swedish acoustic popsters Tarantula showed up 1 hour late to the studio so I thought I could make some short little films of the Mellotron. The Mellotron is famous for it´s flutes, strings and choir sounds but I thought I might demonstrate some of the odder sounds. This is Mellotron 400 #563.It has been serviced by Markus Resch from Mellotron Archives...amongst other things he has built a half speed pedal that I demonstrate in some of the films. The frame has three sounds Vibraphone, piano and tuned wineglasses. I got the tapeframe as a present for my 25th birthday.
These instruments reside at the Roth Händle studio in Stockholm, Sweden. A studio that prides itself in taking care of old vintage instruments and recording ideas. A studio where Optigans, Orchestrons and Mellotrons roam freely in vast echochambers. For more info...please visit www.roth-handle.nu
