A second child has been attacked by a pit bull in the last week, this time in Shelby. Noah Kallerson, 6, was taken to Akron Children's Hospital Thursday night after a pit bull bit him in the face. He is listed in good condition. The incident occurred at 6:30 p.m. at 65 Mansfield Avenue. Richland County Deputy Dog Warden Arden Stannard said some children were playing with the dog in the living room of the home unsupervised. The four-year-old male pit bull belongs to Kallerson's Aunt Diana Phillips. The dog was once owned by Kallerson's father. Phillips was issued a summons for not having liability insurance, a first-degree misdemeanor punishable by up to six months in jail. The dog will be quarantined at the home. Shelby does not have a law prohibiting pit bulls.
