Part one of episode eleven of childhood memories, my review of Baby's Day Out(1994) starring Joe Mantegna, Lara Flynn Boyle, Joe Pantoliano, Brian Haley, Cynthia Nixon, Fred Dalton Thompson, John Neville, and Matthew Glave. Directed by Patrick Read Johnson.
Trivia
Originally Academy Award Winning composer Jerry Goldsmith was slated to score this film, but had to bow out due to scheduling conflicts. Bruce Broughton was hired and subsequently hired to score the remake of Miracle on 34th Street (1994) later that year both written and produced by the late John Hughes.
The film's budget was a whopping fifty million dollars, which at the time was unheard for a film that no major leading stars in its cast.
Former US Senator Fred Dalton Thompson, who plays the police chief in this film also previously appeared in another John Hughes production, Curly Sue.
The film's storyline goes in chronological order of the baby's storybook ("The Boo-boo book") from start to finish in every location shown throughout the film.
