I have (and love) a Golf GTI, but I wouldn't piss on a burning Golf R if I had the chance of one of these. Proper, hardcore performance hatch which I thought manufacturers had forgotten how to build. Brilliant car. All the haters need to drive one. As for image, the RS Fords have pretty much all gone on to achieve near cult status, and have blue chip residual values. Try buying a half straight Cosworth for less than £10k.

Although this was a debate about cars, not about which country i come from. also this was debated over a year ago. I must say you took your time to find a good argument that truly highlighted this topic.
Congratulations, enjoy your plastic-fantastic Focus RS. You'll probably shed a tear every time a BMW M3 leaves your focus to dust.

@tkcwu I doubt that many 18-21 year olds could get insurance on either car to be honest., what with the rising costs of premiums. I don't agree with your comment "Poor man's VW R" which insinuates that many people would purchase an RS simply because they cannot afford the price of a VW R.. I seriously doubt that any owners of the RS would swap it for a VW R, even if the VW R was cheaper...
