  • Stop shopping at Walmart and start buying local.

  • @joesphx19 I'm Danb on CN. If you ever make it west to Oregon I'll have your dark site waiting along with a pretty unobstructed view of the sky east to west all night long. I'm on the outskirts of town but its encroaching fast. Luckily most of my imaging is east & away from town. I was out imaging last night with my 8 inch astrograph, got some M27 and M31. I have a permanent concrete pier and a few acres, I think I'll stay here for a spell:-) I have a friend in Stuart Fl, he builds boats.

Actually I spend too little time with my scope. It's too hot here in Fl about half the year and my kids are not into all nighters- It's about three hours drive to really dark skies in the middle of nowhere. I would like one day to make it to the star party in the Fl. Keys or out west to Az. but times are tough as you know. BTW, sometimes that 20" can be too big or too small when it sits next to Tom's yard scope. I read CN at least once a week but no posts.

  • @joesphx19 You are right on the money. I contract with some wealthy folk, business owners and they are locked up tighther than I've seen in my life. No investments no further development, the list goes on. Because of my licensing I'll continue to survive but the folks I hire each year are out of work thanks directly to this admin.

Aperture is king, you got me beat! I have excellent dark skies that keep me going. Are you on CN or any of the clubs?

I hope things get better for you but really we all must wait for 2012 for this nightmare to begin to recede. The best guess is that American business and banks are so afraid of the obama communists that all investment in future production and thus, employment, is on hold. If obama is returned to the office then we will be firmly locked in an economic depression with possible CWII on the horizon, not my opinion but the Joint Chiefs. BTW, I have a 20" Techtron.

  • Elmo sounds a lot more drunk and high in person than he does on Sesame Street! And Woody sounds a lot like Cheech! You did a brilliant job selecting your panel of experts. I'll be sharing this with my friends. Do crazy radio-head guy and Famous Actor Dennis Woodruff still hang out there? I'd love to hear their opinions on the issues. Bumblebee should run for president in 2012 on the Republican ticket. He's better than the other candidates already.

  • well if the usa would take care of us like it does other countreys wed be ok,but there ass holes, republikins is far if your a moltie millyinre democrats is fare if all ya oen is what u were, nither of ums right cause nither of um care

  • My thoughts now turning to you and realize that America is a dream for me and I want to spend my lifetime there with my wife. You're a pretty smart presenter with various topics about people, years, life.Bravo !

  • @joesphx19 Its absolutely higher. I know several business owners now who are also out of work, mostly contractors. These folks arent counted. This extreme winter has also been a double edged sword for us outdoors workers. I'm a 30 year landscape contractor, 12 year business owner. I used to hire 5 - 6 employees full time for atleast 8 month's of the year but this last 3 years I've had 0. I currently have 1 worker who helps me. This administration lies daily, how much longer will this farce last?

  • Interesting way to present current topics. I do believe the unemployment rate is much higher than the Fed stats since those that have given up looking for work are no longer counted in the numbers. Experts have said the numbers may be as high as 23%. Some evidence for that in the incredible numbers of Americans on food stamps.
