This is a short video of the Monkey Island 2 intro using MS DOS. This represents the way the game was meant to sound, as it was originally composed for the Roland MT-32. The CM-32L was the "Computer Music" variant of the MT-32, which also has the additional sound effects of the LAPC-I. The CM-32LN is the 3rd generation of the MT-32 family of compatible sound modules that was designed for the NEC-98 computers, and wasn't released out of Japan.
I am testing recording games in DOS along with input from external modules, and plan to do LONGPLAYS for old DOS games with outstanding Roland music the way it was meant to be heard, but seldom ever remembered! Enjoy!
Listen with headphones and enjoy! :)
Great recording, but I do have to comment, though, that the recording seems to be a bit slow. Probably from CPU time, but it's noticeable in the slowed-down game animations.

Nice recording!
Just something interesting. There are a lot of Sound Effects missing in the Roland version (despite the CM having extra Sound effects).
e.g. when you remove the shovel from the sign or when you go to the Voodoo lady (no bat noise).
However there is a way to get the missing sound effects AND roland musc. Using Scumm VM and enabling "Mixed Adlib mode".
Just use a USB to MIDI adapter into the Roland and the missing sound effects will play through your PC soundcard.
