I get done with my dirt riding course at the Overland Expo. After a tour of the campsite you can see the difference in philosophy behind overland travel by car verses motorcycle.

  • one word why????

  • Yea, I feel weird talking to the camera with other people around. Been trying to get out of this habit though and do some more off the bike videos.

  • Yeah, its not worth it I don't think.

Something I meant to mention that I noticed in your other trips, You don't show the places you stay, and the set up on your bike. Only the helmet view. You should film some more, get creative. You got the trip and narrative parts down.

  • I probably won't be doing to the map and video linking very much. Took much work involved

  • I will. Are you linking the maps and videos again?

What a good guess at the spelling of Machu Picchu eh? Or maybe just a good memory. ha

  • Machu Picchu? Definitely!

If you go to AtlasRider[.]com and click Maps you can see what I have marked on the map. It's places I'm keeping in mind when I pass through.

  • You're fast!

Sounds good. Better to spend more time on the road, than save for a bike almost its equal and then not travel as much.

Ive done a lot of traveling by sea, for about 6 years living on a cruise ship, My goal is to get good bike and head out on my own for some good long roads and see what I missed in the highlands and back country.

I've been round South america twice, but only seeing the towns and cities on the shore. There's so much I've missed.

You be heading to Machu Picchu?

  • I've pretty much decided on getting a pre-2007 KLR650. It has a long history that inspires a lot of confidence and it doesn't come with the price tag that a 650GS has.

Comes down to money. If I can save 2 or 3 grand that gives me a couple more months of traveling when I head to South America.

  • Bill, Are you still thinking about getting yourself a GS?

I stil can't afford one, maybe next year.

How many years am I going to say that :(

  • Yep 89A is a favorite road of mine. Have been on it many times.

I'm sure there were better camp sites, but it was nice to be close to the Overland Expo.
