http://www.ntv.co.ke Climate talks in Barcelona: The prospect of a new global agreement on climate change looks bleak. Delegates attending the conference have failed to agree a formula on how to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. Developed countries have rejected a proposal from poorer nations calling for sharp emission cuts. and as ntvs joe ageyo reports, the drought in Kenya is featuring prominently in the deadlocked talks.

  • With money comes control.

World Bank money meant unjust control and exploitation of the developing world, and big bucks for international corporations.

    It's re-colonization in disguise.

Read "Confessions Of An Economic Hitman"

"Climate Change" money will be the same. Who do you think you will have to buy the technology from?

  • They need more money for their wive's Christmas shopping sprees at the luxury shops in Copenhagen in December.

If you think that money will help the common people, you are sadly delusional.

  • MzeeMoja...I agree with you but how can we say anything when we can't even deal with our own corruption regarding the Mau forest and other which are the main factors of our climate problems. You can't stand against something you yourself are doing. "Do as I say, not as I do". Lets 1st solve domestic problems before we go telling others what to do.

Don't get me wrong...even though I don't think much will be solved or concluded on here

  • well put!!!

  • And by the way this is not one of those "you guys colonised us and so we can't bla bla bla". The argument here is that in the industrial revolution era, there was no such thoughts re climate as/in the way there are today. Development was therefore like "lets burn as much as possible and forcefully expoit others - without thinking/talking about it." Exploitation and silence continues, & they are still burning stuff. It's disrespectful they should xpct us 2 watch the climate with them!

  • Great that the African representatives are putting pressure on the developed world. They cannot expect us to be in par with them when in actual fact it's them who are largely polluting the world. We are learning to walk while they are at a stage where they have advanced from walking, their feet have even left the ground. They cannot expect us to fly with them while in actual fact for as long as i know since colonialism, they have been intentioned to hurt our ability to develop walking skills!!
