I've always felt that moment at the 0:36 mark, when Costner looks into the camera and says "It's up to you", breaks the fourth wall; a direct message to the audience.

@cahex4 George H.W. Bush is still alive. he was in the CIA since 1961 and in Dallas that day. he laughed at Gerald Ford's funeral after mentioning JFK's killing. Gerald Ford was on the Warren Commission and helped cover it up. Also Richard Nixon helped by organizing Operation 40 Cubans. some of the ones in the film are OP 40. Nixon was pissed JFK won and felt embarrassed. That's also why Ford pardoned Nixon after Watergate. also look up E Howard Hunt deathbed confession. He was CIA.

Britian had a similar thing with the Jack the Ripper case file. Locked away for 100 years. In 1988, all the royal conspiracy theorists, many who wrote books, made films saying the killings were every one from the prince of whales to Queen Victoria's doctor were waiting to see there wild beliefs vindicated. There had to some cover up or why would the file be closed for so long? Well when it was open to the public they all found nothing but was already known. So now all new conspiracy theories.

@100milnic Even THEY don't agree with you, so quit embarrassing yourself by citing them. You are determined to believe in a conspiracy, so you pick and choose what evidence you even want to consider, even if the sources of that evidence think your view is full of crap. That's just the way Garrison did things, actually; he was laughed out of court, and even most conspiracy theorists have absolutely no use for him today, just like I have no use for people who won't even LOOK for themselves.
