Crush is a hawksbill sea turtle rescued as a hatchling. When Crush was 18 months old he began getting ready for his eventual release. Barbara Whitman, marine biologist and owner of Under the Sea Sealife Education Centre on Nevis in the West Indies, took Crush out for swims in the Caribbean so he could get used to being in the wild, strengthen his muscles, learn how to forage for food and interact with other sea creatures. Crush was released December 2007. He has been seen a few time since, most recently on February 17, 2009 not far from where he was released. He has grown quite a bit and looks healthy.
