Back when I used to be somewhat decent on trombone. Performing Morceau Symphonique by Alexander Guilmant with the Houston Youth Symphony (Philharmonic) in Stude Hall at Rice University. I was 17 years old.

  • Decent, but do realize that this is a SOLO, and considering you play one of the loudest instruments, I can barely hear you. Also no real phrasing or emotion going on. Nice job on your sixteenth note runs though. Not bad on the whole.

  • yeah but my father is stronger than your father.. come on guy...just enjoy

  • beatifull tone and great tehnique, but are 3 problems:

    1. you need a microfone, (it's trombone,in generaly there's no need, but when u play with the orchestra, you need)

2.the ochestra is a stupid one XD

3.u play to jerky... try to tell continuous something...

    but still very good;)...

  • Why so soft in the beginning?? You're a soloist. So you get all the attention basically. Sorry that just bothered me.

  • Did you lip slur that trill at the end?

  • You have vivid and mild sound. Good Job.

  • Personally, I would have liked it a bit slower during the andante sostenuto sections. Right before the first section of triplets it says con fuoco, with fire, so a lot more emotion there. Not much expression through the entire piece, good technicals though.

  • I think the first section was a little too fast and i didnt really feel the emotion of the piece. I think the middle wasnt aggressive enough and a little under tempo. I think your accuracy and toungueing is great though. I would also have liked to see some more dynamic shaping throughout the whole solo. your c sharp was really good and the second fast part was better. I think you lack some confidence in your upper register. Listen to how Christian Lindbergh plays this.Overall a good performance.

  • Very nice tone and clearity of notes. I'm impressed. More could be done with phrasing and dynamics. Overall a superior performance.

  • I played this in 8th grade...still love it. You did a great job!

  • not gonna lie you are pretty dang good
