Um, no... This song/video was released in 2001 and Sophie has been around since 1997 with her band Theaudience. She collaborated with Spiller in 2000 and released her debut solo album the same year this was released. So your assumption is very much incorrect. :P I would say the similarity people speak of is purely coincidental.
