a.k.a. "Rue des Cascades", a film by Maurice Delbez, based on the novel "Alain et le nègre" by Robert Sabatier. Starring Madeleine Robinson, René Lefevre, Suzanne Gabriello, Daniel Jacquinot (as the 10-year old principal character, Alain), and Lucienne Bogaert.
I made these excerpts to show the filming locations, all confined to a small area in the Belleville-Ménilmontant district of Paris (20th arrondissement). Many locations are the same as those used in "The Red Balloon", shot here eight years earlier -- see the on-screen captions.
The music is not the original film music but comes from the Victor Pikt-Ur Library (late 1920s).
