Green Hornet "Corpse of the Year" (pt1) Black Beauty chase

"Corpse of the Year" (part-1) airdate Jan. 13-20, 1967 a special 2-parter featuring the two Black Beauty cars built by Dean Jeffries in a head to head battle with a Green Hornet imposter. This is the only episode in which both cars are seen together.

Watch part-2 for the deadly confrontation.

One car is currently in the Petersen Museum, the other is in private hands.

Yeah..its about the Mask. Actors wear invisible masks anyway. Especially the attractive ones, like a mask of beauty. Give them a real mask to wear and its a license to go wild (like the villains in Batman). Van puts on the Mask and nothing happens. Like nothing happened in Bourbon or Surfside. Tom puts on the Mask and there are electric sparks shooting out of his ice-white eyes. The look on his face as he pulls out behind Wende Wagner in the fake Black Beauty says it all (see Pt 2).

Naw ... Van Williams was just fine. Simcox is a very good actor, but let's not forget that Williams played the REAL Hornet. Simcox, as the Hornet imposter, gets to do all sorts of wicked deeds, which no doubt lends weight to the performance.

The Green Hornet imposter is actor Tom Simcox, who has been an anonymous star since the early 60s. What I remember about this 2-parter is that Simcox looked better as The Green Hornet. All kinds of stuff going on behind the mask. Ol Van babys just so boring..

That's bad "Day For Night" shooting. They film scenes in the day, and usually put filters on the cameras in a futile attempt to make it appear as though it were filmed in the evening. Less expensive to film in the day, especially since you're not paying the crew extra to stick around late.

Wow, gotta love the switching back and forth between day and night. Don't also see why Green Hornet just doesn't ride in the front seat. Love the green headlights though.
