Restaurants

Abu el Sid Lots of traditional food I HIGHLY suggest the molokhiya with chicken. I have pictures of it in the video I mentioned.

A pub called Deals best vine leaves ever!

Maison Thomas good pizza you can also take away

Cilantro coffee shop with takeaway food.

Marriott Gardens at Marriott Hotel. If youre looking for a good lunch or brunch. Its a lovely place to sit and relax also kid friendly.

All these three places are in Zamalek and within walking distance from the Mayfair.

Food + Sweets

Theres a street staple called koushari you can buy it for cheap, but theres a risk youll get sick if you buy it from street vendors. LOADED with carbs its pasta, rice and lentils with a special sauce.

Feteer widely available at coffee shops in Khan Khalili.

Um Ali this is a MAJOR diet buster, but you HAVE TO try it. Its pretty much milk, filo dough, nuts and raisins the best one Ive had is at a sweet stand/resto called Al Malki. Any cab driver can take you to one. Youll likely be standing and eating or taking it to go. You can have this at any restaurant, but I find Malkis so good!!

Khan Khalili

This is one of the oldest market places in the Middle East. Lots of trinkets at a great price make sure to bargain!

Sunnyland Papyrus.
68 El Sekka El Guedida

I believe the guys name I always go to is Waheed.

  • hi there, i would like to thank u for this vid,

am italian living in egypt for the last 10 years, this vid is the sum of those ten years in almost 10 min :)

the way u talk on egypt is nice but i want to tell u something, when it comes to live here it's different, pple are nice with tourists more than pple they are living with, i dnno why Egyptian citizens don't respect each other, u can see this also in their way of driving here, it's beyond any limits :)

    thanks again

  • Wow you look really beautiful in this video! Shalom and thanks for your videos. You should come to Israel and do a travelouge there.

  • @klkennedy100 i can't seem to post a link to the proof of this in my reply, i will try to do so on your wall.

  • @klkennedy100: i have taken the single-sail boat you describe several times in the exact area i described.

  • @klkennedy100: the person this video wa meant for was not travelling to Attaba.

  • @klkennedy100: i never said to not shop around, but of all the places i went to, the selection at QUALITY was best at sunny land. it's also guaranteed authentic.

  • @klkennedy100: Abou el Sid was indeed listed on their top 50 restaurants in the world back in May 2002 -

and i believe it fell within the top ten. but your description of molokheya is better than mine ... stew was likely not the right word, but i have never had an oily one.

  • @merrytraveller Part 3...a "faluka" is a single-sail boat and can seat about four comfortably and safely. What you refer to along the bank of the Nile in Garden City are NOT falukas. Those boats you refer to seat from 20 to 30 people and are motor-powered.
