I wonder how many of the 1978-84 S-series in the 2570 family had the 8V71N Detroit Diesel, an engine never cataloged for the former Fleetstar F-2070A line???

Yes... this is an International F-2574 from 1979. It replaced the Fleetstar F-2070A, which was sold from 1972-1977. This breed of S-series was among the first to be sold when originally introduced April 25, 1977. The lighter S-series which took over for the Loadstar series and the remainder of the Fleetstar line appeared in September 1978.
