A month ago my beloved best friend Julie died.. I've been coping kinda... and something today hit me that another year is coming and she won't be in it. But as I was preparing for going to see AILEY at CITY CENTER tomorrow I remembered the words of JUDITH JAMISON creative director of ALVIN AILEY
i believe in spirit. And then i believe a manifestation of spirit is dance.
and so instead of crying today I danced... tears fell too but they were part of my spirit and dance.. and as night came and still i danced I made this tribute in honor not only of my lost friend but in the spirit of Alvin Ailey who wanted dance to go back to the people
So as I do when I go to AILEY EXTENSION class and I'm not dancer like the company I pretended I was an AILEY dancer and I channeled MME JAMISON
and I danced... so thank you Judith Jamison I SPEAK YOUR NAME.
