  • It's never 2 late. Angela Lansbury is returning to Broadway on November 24 2009. She is going to star in A LITTLE NIGHT MUSIC. Oscar winner Catherine Zeta-Jones will also star in the show. As much as I know, there is only one stage door. I went to see her in Blithe Spirit. She didn't come out. However, she was nice to sign 20 Playbills to give to the body guard to give to them to the fans that were waiting. She will defitnetly sign for her new show. There is always hope.

  • she was phenomenal in blithe spirit...so much ENERGY i was amazed

i waited nearly 2 hours in the rain at the stage door but no one came out that night

i was heartbroken...i was so determined to meet her!!! everytime there after when i was in the city all summer i would go by shubert alley and hope to maybe catch her, but i never did

now i never know when i'll get chance to see her live again :(

  • Angela is a classy lady who genuinely loves her fans just as we love her. She could have hidden her face or ducked down, but she didn't because she's just not that kind of woman. And the way she smiled at me and waved, she looked like she knew me right back. That's just the essence she gave off. She's wonderful, Millie.

  • Lovely post of the lovely Angela :-)

  • I'm so thrilled that you made eye contact with each other and had that interaction. Truly unforgettable.Well done you! :-)

  • Oh wow, you got to see her "in the flesh" in Blithe spirit! how utterly fantastic!

That was so the right thing to do, to respect her wishes...cause fans can be abit too forward and pushy so im sure she appreciated that.

  • My story was too long for the first post (I ran out of character counts), so I have to continue it in a reply. So I stepped back and said, "That's okay," and I was standing but a foot away from her, as she was smiling and getting into her car. It all just seemed to happen so fast. Then I smiled and waved at her, hoping she would notice me, and she DID! She turned her head my way, and returned me the smile and waved right back to me from her backseat window. It was unforgettable. She's wonderful!

  • I saw her in Blithe Spirit, and I absolutely loved her and the show! She's a lovely lady, and I even got to meet her after the show...sort of. She didn't come out the stagedoor to sign autographs, but upon my way around the other side of the theatre, she came out the alternate exit to go to her car. I walked up to her that night, and I started to say, "Miss Lansbury?" But one of her escorts politely said to me, "She isn't signing," and I respectfully stepped back and said "That's okay."

  • Ya, when I saw the show last weekend, no one stage doored after the matinee (which was understandable as Broadway Barks had taken over Shubert Alley) but we went back that night to the Blithe Spirit stage door hoping they'd come out and no one did.

  • Angela Lansbury is one of my perosdnal favs, and went back home to NY last month to see her on Broadway. I waited patiently at the stage door for nearly an hour, but only got to see Ms Rush and Rupert, who was right in my face/close up. She never came out and was bummed, Regardless, her winning yet another Tony for this performance, well, Im most thrilled!
