  • Thailand needs more people like Giles Ungpakorn - he just faces a politically motivated trumped up charge of lese-majeste.

Giles simply dares to say what millions of Thais think and believe, but unlike Giles, they are afraid to speak their minds.

Millions of red-shirts realize the present king is not going to be around forever, and so worry about what is going to happen, unlike the yellow-shirts who want to believe the king is an eternal God. Thais need to face the reality - listen to Giles.

  • Thers are regular folks....the average thai citizens....the silent majority......wants to get their hands on this guy......read the reds manifesto if u don't believe.

  • Never mind the laws..walk up to any thai person and insult the monarchy and see what happends.......thais have neverd fully trusted the civilian gov in allmost 800 years......this guy is a traitor.....he's not afraid of the law..he afraid of other thais.

  • STAY IN ENGLAND JERK!

  • @NileBowie

Yes Thailand has made progress. But nothing can justify a law that imprisons people... mostly Thais for up to 15 years simply for stating an opinion. The king himself has stated he is a human being and not above criticism. You cannot use 'cultural sensitivities' as an excuse for human rights violations. And the fact is this law directly contradicts Article 18 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. When Lese Majeste goes, Thailand can be called progressive.

  • @seyoumeye

Actually here in the UK we are free to peacefully state our opinions... we can say virtually anything without fear of detention... including insulting the monarchy... Republicans regularly mock the Queen without any repurcussions

    So there is no comparison....

  • @shockcinema

You are the sick one if you defend this repressive law.

Up to 15 YEARS imprisonment for stating an opinion? !

    OPEN YOUR EYES

  • Brave man. Lese Majeste is an affront to freedom and a direct contradiction of Article 18 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights

Shame on those who defend it

  • Unfortunately the real problem was your sicked lies and twisted lefty dreamy childish opinion Giles.
